Psychotherapy that Brings Results
Therapy for Asian Americans at Resilience Psychology
Asian American identity often involves balancing powerful individual desires and family hopes and dreams. Faced with intense pressure to succeed, many Asian Americans report feeling torn while standing at the intersection of competing priorities, values, and cultures. If you are experiencing any of the issues below, consider therapy to understand and work through issues:
- Minority stress, microaggressions, discrimination, and racism
- Confronting “model minority” stereotypes
- Family expectations and pressures for achievement
- Intergenerational trauma
- Feeling invisible
- Cultural shame
- Heterosexism
- Wounding from male bias and favoritism
- Interracial relationships or marriage
- Tension between individual desires and family traditions or values
- Feelings of chronic stress, anxiety, depression, and guilt
- Adoption issues and birth family searches

Benefits of Asian American Therapy
At Resilience Psychology, work with an understanding and knowledgeable therapist to unpack and explore the multi-faceted layers involved in Asian American identity and issues. Therapy is a safe and private space for you to feel seen, heard, and validated. Furthermore, find ways to communicate with your family or culture at large to elicit positive changes in your system and in yourself.
If you can’t change your fate, change your attitude.
