Psychotherapy that Brings Results
Trauma/PTSD Therapy at Resilience Psychology
Trauma means “wound” in Latin and in this sense, all individuals have experienced big and small traumas across their lifetime. Whether your trauma is from a single event or accumulated over a lifetime, studies show that trauma has the following impacts on the mind and body:
- Inability to trust
- Low or distorted self-esteem
- Sense of being isolated or disconnected from others
- Feeling stuck, exhausted, or anxious
- Disturbing flashbacks or dreams of the traumatic event
- Avoidance of people, places, or objects related to the trauma
- Emotional numbing through alcohol, drugs, or overworking
- Emotional dysregulation and experiencing overwhelming emotions that are out of proportion to a situation
- Having difficulty with keeping or setting boundaries
- Thoughts of self-harm or suicide
